Privacy Policy
Last updated 7 September 2026 · applies to the Al Muminun Android app and this website
Al Muminun is a Qur'an, hadith and prayer-times app. This page says plainly what it collects, why, and what happens to it. If something here does not match what the app does, the app is wrong and we want to hear about it.
What you give us
The app requires an account, so this is asked of everyone:
- Your email address and name. Used to sign you in and to carry your saved things between devices. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google — nothing else.
- Your password is never seen by us. It is handled by our authentication provider, Supabase, and stored only as a hash.
An account is required to use the app. Nothing beyond the above is asked for at sign-up — no phone number, no date of birth, no address.
What the app saves for you
When you are signed in, these are backed up so a new phone picks up where the old one left off: your bookmarks and favourite surahs, saved hadith, where you last stopped reading, your notes on ayahs, your dhikr counters and streak, your reading goal, and your saved Ask Noor conversations.
All of it also stays on your device, so the app works without a connection once the content is downloaded.
Location
Prayer times, the qibla direction and the nearby-mosque search need to know where you are. Your coordinates are used on your device to calculate those, and for the mosque search they are sent to the mapping service to ask what is nearby. We do not store a history of where you have been. You can refuse the permission; prayer times then fall back to a location you set yourself.
Ask Noor
Questions you type to Ask Noor are sent to our server so it can search the Qur'an, tafsir and hadith and compose an answer. Your conversations are saved to your account so you can return to them, and you can delete them. Questions are not used to train any model.
Advertising
The app shows ads through Google AdMob, which is how it stays free. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to choose which ads to show. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any ad loads, and you can change that answer later from Settings. Only ads rated for general audiences are ever requested.
Google's own handling of that data is described at policies.google.com.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data, to anyone, for anything.
- We do not track what you read and hand it to advertisers.
- We do not ask for contacts, photos, microphone or call history.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and requests only general-audience ads. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Deleting everything
Settings → Sign out removes the local copy. To delete your account and everything stored against it, email the address below and it will be done within 30 days. You do not have to give a reason.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will tell you rather than quietly updating this page.

Questions, corrections, or a deletion request: almuminun.app@gmail.com
Before publishing: this policy was written from what the app actually does in code. Read it once against your own understanding — especially the contact address and the deletion promise — and change anything you would not want to be held to.
